THE BEAUTY OF THE OCEAN 🌊

Oceans cover more than two-thirds of the Earth.

It is home to millions of animals and plants, from tiny plankton to giant whales.

Oceans provide us with food, oxygen and water for rain.

They also help regulate the planet's temperature.

The ocean is a shelter for various aquatic species like whales, sharks, ornamental fishes.

And the five oceans of the world are the Indian Ocean, the Pacific Ocean, the Arctic Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean and the Antarctic Ocean.

"World Ocean Day" falls on June 8 every year to protect our oceans.

Billions of pounds of trash and other pollutants enter the ocean every year.

Some debris ends up on our beaches, washing up with the waves and tides.

Some debris sinks. Some are mistaken for food and eaten by marine animals.

There are several forms of ocean pollution. Dumping waste from factories into water, dumping garbage into streams etc.

Protecting the ocean is important for the future of our planet.
